Arun Balakrishnan, CBV

Arun joined HDL Capital in 2025 as a Senior Associate. He supports the firm’s M&A advisory practice by guiding clients through business transitions and growth acquisitions, managing transaction execution, and collaborating closely with investors and advisory teams to achieve successful outcomes. His work also includes providing valuations and fairness opinions, working closely with management teams to ensure informed and objective decision-making.

Arun graduated from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022 and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Accounting. In 2024, he successfully passed the Membership Qualification Exam and was designated as a Chartered Business Valuator. Arun began his professional career in 2022 with Doane Grant Thornton as a Transactions Associate supporting the valuation, M&A, and due diligence practice across various industries including Manufacturing and Distribution, Consulting, Transportation and Logistics, and Software. Most recently, he was part of the Corporate Strategy team at MCAP, where he supported initiatives in mergers and acquisitions, market research, economic outlooks, and government relations.

Arun is passionate about sports, with a particular interest in hockey, baseball, and basketball. He also enjoys traveling, exploring new culinary experiences, reading, and maintaining an active lifestyle through regular fitness.
